What's the role?

We are looking for an experienced team leader to develop and lead a team of Specification Engineers to drive strategic engineering topics in the specifier / consultant discipline geared towards achieving and sustaining specifier / consultant engagement and the overall growth of SG Engineering specification volume.

What does the role involve?

As Technical Manager, you will have the following main responsibilities:

Accountable for co-defining and implementing SG Engineering strategy.
Accountable for the development of Team in core competencies required in the daily execution of works.
Assure alignment within Team over the implementation of strategic objectives.
Build high level relationship and network within the specifier / consultant discipline and provide for sound technical support in compliance to codes and standards.
Support SG Engineering / customers by providing engineering judgments and response on complex and non-standard technical requests. Generate pro-active solutions to safeguard Hilti’s business.
Expert advisor to Head of Engineering on the development and implementation of industry trends with direct implications on our engineering solution offerings.
Actively research competitor’s technical information, provide useful, concise marketing and technical intelligence to SG Engineering.
Accountable for the formulation of yearly specification and key project targets, bearing insights of the construction environment.
Assist Head of Engineering in developing internal trainings and be responsible for its conduct and implementation.
Enable close collaboration and alignment between Sales, Marketing and Engineering in the efficient execution of strategic topics and its works

We invest 6% of our turnover every year in exploring new solutions in diamond systems, measuring tools, firestops, anchors and other fastening systems.

What you need is:

  • Degree in Civil (preferred) / Structural / Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 – 8 years of experience in the building construction or related industry, with some years in the Civil & Structural consultancy / specifier capacity
  • Has Department or Team lead experience
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant national codes and standards
  • Strong analytical, influencing skills and strategic mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and additional languages is a plus.
