What's the role?

The Business Development Manager (BD) is responsible for qualitative and quantitative development of allocated market organizations (with Distributors, called Partners). Furthermore, the BD will be in charge of development of business strategies and initiatives together with the Owners of the distributionship. The BD shall also be the coach of the Hilti division managers and make sure that people strategies are implemented, talents promoted and the territories including regions fully covered. The BD will have to coordinate the international business opportunities and cover the one to one customer relationship with the top 10 customers in each country allocated.

Reporting to the Head of Partner Markets, the incumbent will work very closely with Business Development Managersto serve the Partner Market distributors and top customers in, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Cambodia, Myanmar and Brunei.

What does the role involve?

Develop the Business strategies 2020 (towards 2023) and initiatives for Partner Markets
Lead the People Development process as coach for the Leaders of our Partner Markets
Own the top international and local customer relationship and business development (focused approach)
Achieve the set targets (in market sales) and KPI’s
Contribute to the NSP development targets for SR SEA Partner markets
Develop excellent relationship with the owners of the business
New market entries and invite for change mgmt. of existing Partners if the agreed upon criteria’s (market reach, commitment, violation of code of conduct) or rules set are breached.
Manage digital marketing activities (incl. Hilti Online for Partner markets and ERP reporting on B1)

What you need is:

  • 3 years as Sales Manager, Product manager or marketing role (with sales experience)
  • Good understanding of Engineering/Technical matters
  • Good analytical skills with strategic direction abilities
  • Good understanding and derive conclusions of local P&L
  • Being able to manage high level (with Owners of GM’s of customers) discussions and negotiations.
  • Good skills in Excel, PowerPoint and reporting
  • Good English and ability to speak in Mandarin is plus as the incumbent will have to liaise with Chinese customers (end users)
  • Working with others and strong communication skills
  • Able to travel 60% of the time, in different time zones and different weekend days
