Profile summary
I joined Hilti in 2016 as group manager of a team of 30 people in logistics. I was responsible for production planning and control, and for the warehouse of one of our production units.
It’s a really varied job. On one day, my team and I might be solving an operational problem on the shop floor. On another, I’ll be focused on a more strategic project.
Working in logistics and supply chain management calls for close collaboration between colleagues all over the world. Hilti supports this sense of global community and teamwork by giving you the opportunity to work abroad.
I took this opportunity in the beginning of 2019. I am now leading an international engineering team and we are responsible for introducing new products to our plant in Mexico.

I work in Hilti’s global lean team, where our aim is to give customers better value by eliminating waste and making continuous improvement across the entire enterprise, from manufacturing and logistics to finance and all the business units.
Our team is diverse in every sense of the word. We’re located in different sites in Europe, have a wide range of experience and come from countries spanning France, Greece, Austria, Bolivia, Finland, Germany and Italy.
We have the opportunity to work with our stakeholders in a really collaborative way, often traveling the world to carry out improvement workshops, training, coaching and projects. What we do has a tremendous positive impact on our people, our customers and of course our company.
Every year, we have a team camp, where a Hilti ‘sherpa’ takes us away for a week of group activities and personal development. It involves lots of team-building exercises, with different themes each year. It’s all about getting to know each other outside the work environment and coming together with a common goal and vision.

As lean manager, my main tasks are to support our plant’s Total Productive Maintenance project and facilitate various workshops and training events.
Each day is different and brings me new challenges. I work with colleagues from all different departments and at all different levels. I especially like working so close to production, and also with the global lean community. It’s great to see how lean works in other areas of the business, be it other plants, warehouses or tool service centers.
What I love about Hilti is the huge sense of teamwork. Everyone has a genuine contribution to make, plus there’s a friendly and fun atmosphere in the plant.
Hilti give us all an individual development path, with opportunities for internal and external training as well as networking in the company. They also offer ‘benchmark’ visits to get an insight on special topics outside the box.

Profile summary
I was first drawn to Hilti because it seemed to me a company that cared as much about its people and their development as it did about its results. Seven years on, I can safely say I was right.
During my time here, I’ve been privileged to work in many diverse and international teams. It has been a remarkable and exciting experience for me and a testament to the spirit of Hilti.
Hilti has given me so many great development opportunities – not just as a professional but as a person too. From the company culture and strong set of values to the inspiring leaders and everyone in every team, you really get the feel that you’re being cared for – like part of a big family.
That’s not to say it’s not a demanding place to work. It is. But performance is always driven with a huge emphasis on people development, support, integrity and social responsibility.
